How it works
A transparent method, not a black box
Every appraisal follows the same published rubric, so you can see exactly why a name scored the way it did.
Measure
We normalize the name and measure what can be measured: length, words, syllables, spelling risks and the extension.
Evaluate
The AI judges brandability, memorability, market relevance and commercial breadth against published scoring anchors.
Score
Appraised SI's own code combines the seven criteria into a weighted 0–100 score — the AI never sets the total.
Explain
You get a value outlook, strengths, limitations and a clear list of what the report could not check.
The rubric at a glance
Seven weighted criteria. Measured criteria are computed in code; judged criteria come from the AI, or from clearly labeled rule-based estimates when AI isn't used.

Honest numbers
Three kinds of numbers, never mixed up
Domain prices are easy to overstate. Appraised SI keeps every number labeled with where it came from.
Owner asking price
The price a seller sets for a listed domain. It's shown only for names in our marketplace and is never part of an appraisal.
AI-estimated range · model opinion
A model's opinion based on the name's characteristics. When enabled, it's always labeled as an opinion — not a market valuation.
Verified comparable sale
A real, reported sale with a date, price, currency and public source. Ranges built from them need at least three relevant sales.
When there isn't enough evidence for a number, the report says so and gives you a qualitative value outlook instead.
Compare up to four names
Side-by-side scores on the same rubric, with strengths, trade-offs and a recommendation for your intended use.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Is Appraised SI really free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it's free, and there are no accounts at all. You don't need to sign up, log in, share an email address or provide an API key to see the full report.
How is the score calculated?
Seven criteria are each scored from 0 to 10. Length, pronunciation and extension suitability are measured by code; brandability, memorability, market relevance and commercial breadth are judged by the AI against published anchors. Our code then computes the weighted total.
Why don't I always see a dollar value?
Live AI reports can include an AI-estimated range, labeled as a model opinion rather than verified sales evidence. When enough relevant verified comparable sales are available, a separate sales-based estimate can be shown. If neither method produces a usable range, you get a qualitative value outlook and an explanation. No appraisal guarantees a sale price.
Is the score the same as the domain's price?
No. The score measures the quality and potential of the name. Market prices also depend on buyers, timing, traffic and negotiation, which a name-only appraisal can't observe.
Does Appraised SI check trademarks, traffic or registration status?
No. Reports list these as missing information. Before buying or using a name, check trademark databases and the registry record, and consider professional advice.
What happens to the domains I appraise?
The domain, your optional context and the result are stored on our server for a limited time so reports can be cached and shared by link. To analyze the name, the domain and any context you add are sent to the site's AI provider. Your recent searches are kept only in your browser. See the privacy page for details.
Can I appraise many domains at once?
Yes — bulk appraisal handles a short list per run, with per-domain progress, cancellation and CSV or Markdown export. Limits keep the service fast and fair for everyone.
